SHOWROOM CLOSURE NOTICES: 24th December - 3rd January
It is the law to ensure a Gas Safe registered installer carries out any gas works within your home. It is also very important to ensure the installer you use is qualified and experienced in the particular field of work he/she is practicing. Just because an installer is Gas Safe Registered it does not necessarily mean they have actually installed a fireplace!
Gasco Fireplace Gallery installers are highly qualified and have fitted thousands of fires and fireplaces over the years. They are familiar with products such as natural stone, marble and granite and carry all the correct materials, adhesives and equipment required. All types of installations have been carried out including bespoke 'Powerflue' exhaust systems for various properties and hotels, solid fuel chimneys, gas flues, huge natural stone fireplaces - right down to designing and installing a high quality, custom made brushed steel gas fire canopy within a local prestigious hotel - all either privately or for small and large developers.
When choosing a solid fuel appliance a HETAS registered installer must be used. It is often overlooked but a solid fuel installation can also be very dangerous if not carried out correctly and professionally.
This is also the case with an electrical installation.
A Gas Safe Registered installer can legally install an electrically operated fire or fireplace, or any appliance requiring electric as long as the cable supplied will be sufficient to connect to an existing fused spur outlet or a three pin plug. If not, a qualified electrician will be required to fit a point up to the new appliance position. If you do not know of one, give us a call and we will be happy to supply details of reputable electricians we have dealt with before and trust.
Working in conjunction with a local LPG supplier we are also able to supply and install LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) installations at properties without mains gas. There are regulations and criteria that need to be followed but it is very rare that an installation cannot be carried out some way or another. The range of appliances now available for LPG are vast and have become nearly as available as Natural Gas appliances.
Before a gas or solid fuel fire is installed it is highly recommended that the chimney is swept prior to installation. We work closely with a number of sweeps and are happy to pass details of these to you.
If you are instructing your own installer and purchasing the fire/fireplace from ourselves, the responsibility of the correct product being ordered is down to your installers advice/recommendations and not ours. We are able to make suggestions but cannot be responsible if we have not visited the site. It is important to note most manufacturers have a re-stocking fee of approx. 25% if an item needs to be returned due to being ordered incorrectly/not-suitable.
We offer a free/small fee no obligation survey if you are within reasonable distance from our showroom here in Yeovil. Unsure if you are in our patch? Contact us below to request a visit and find out.
